Running OS X on windows...

. here is a project called pearPC.

PearPC is a PowerPC emulator for x86 computers. You can emulate a PPC system so that you can run GNU/Linux for PPC, Mac OS X, and OSes for PPC on x86.

Sounds really cool. I think I should try this. Only if I know where to get OS X install CDs.
and don't forget to check the screenshots.

FotoVision

This sample posted today on MSDN is awesome:

The FotoVision sample allows you to easily share photos on the web and demonstrates a variety of .NET technologies including Windows Forms, ASP.NET, Web services, and the .NET Compact Framework. It consists of a desktop, web, and Pocket PC sample applications. This paper provides information so you can get the most from the FotoVision desktop application.

All I would like to see is a client for the smartphone using FotoVision web site.
Download the sample from here.

Microsoft to sponsor Formula 1 team....

from f1racing.net:

Microsoft is lining-up to be Toyota's principal F1 sponsor. Germany's 'Bild am Sonntag' newspaper reported on Sunday that the company's chairman Bill Gates is willing to spend $40 million a year on the new deal. Bild also connected Sony with the Cologne-based team.

Yahoo updated its mail service.

Now yahoo's mail service offers 100 megs of mail store instead of 5 megs, which is really cool because my biggest problem was the lack of space in my mailbox. The other big headache is the amount of spam I receive... I wish they can use a better spam filter.

Quake3 Demo using Raytracing

Download the video from here. Apperently some university student modified Quake 3 to use raytrace to render the video. They used around 20 AMD Athlon XP 1800 processors to achieve the ray trace rendering in real time (>20fps, 512x512). It looks really cool....

Nokia's global handset market share drops to 28.9%

I am a big fan of Nokia and it is really said to hear that Nokia's market share drops to 28.9% in the first quater of 2004. The  biggest drop is 10% on the global mobile handset market. The biggest drop is on the Western European market (10%).

Nokia "suffered a decline in market share because of decreased sales in Western Europe and North America," Gartner said. "Nokia's dramatic drop in market share resulted from a weak product portfolio and the decision by operators in Western Europe to source more phones from Nokia's competitors."

They just really need to wake up and do something NOW!
